  Just back from Montreal meet up

  i just came back from the montreal meet up.

  about 15 people showed up and we all ate at a chinese restaurant.

  jh, scully, her children, kaethra, guess77, his wife, acsot, saint satan and his friends, lapuce, sisterliz, her friends.

  OK, I'm back in business. One of my son's computer workers corrected the problem but doesn't know what cause it. I have a fickle computer.

  Yes, our evening was pleasureable and we did have one exciting moment. My brother-in-law JW appeared at the same restaurant and sat directly behind us. He does talk to me so that helped.

  Yes, we would have taken pictures, but out of respect for a few, none was taken. (Besides, did we have a camera?) I guess in our next meet-up we will be selective in picture taking.

  We all had a enjoyable time, the meal, desert and company was great!

  Bottom line, mind control. When the elder (thought for me) that I wasn't repented, the light bulbs went on! I have always been against anyone thinking for me, jw or not. If you wanna turn me off, think for me. Thinking for others is not in my (golf) bag. Pun intended.

  I have a hard time blaming the Watchtower

  " if the watchtower said it, and the men on the platform preached it, then it must have been true.

  so it was very hard to accept as an adult, that they were wrong.

  I'm trying to understand both sides of the issue here. Its not a cut and dry answer for some due to circumstances. For children, what say do they have? For adults it differs. One's maturity both mentally and emotionally play a major role.

  Deception (teachings) and influence (environment) play a role in how we make choices even in one's personal finances. Yes, contributing factors come into play. We live in a society that has drug us into complacency. Why, just yesterday I attended a community business meeting (as an observer) and this was their major weakness, taking responsibility and complacency. It took these business people 'over' two hours to finally organize a committee. If they don't take the bull by the horns, the town council will 'control' their business and they would be up the creek without a paddle. This example applies in personal life.

  We all need time and the right tools to make the right choices. I'm a strong believer in 'free' choice, that is, to be my own person and not to be controlled by others. Interesting topic for discussion.

  Does your name 'spiritwalker' have anything to do with Native Americans?

  i can't for the life of me get the search feature here to find the "post your picture here:" thread.. there aren't that many photos of me that actually exist.

  but last weekend i did a job for the condo where i live, and they documented my small effort.. if some one could post a link to the "post your picture here:" thread, i'll put the link there.. otherwise i'll go all narcissistic and post it here.. .

  I could relate to the pictures and work because I have a tree business for over thirty years. We used to specialize in cavity and cabling work, you know the tree doctor. I've combined this trade with high steel work.

  things that make you go AGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!

  kingdom melodies did it for me everytime.. i tired so hard not to have uncharitable thoughts about the ppl who wrote the tunes and words to the kingdom melodies.

  there were about 2 that i could stomach.. the rest were so totally uninspiring and mechanical.. .i can say that apart from maybe 2 i didnt get any up lifting joy from them.. elders complained that ppl wern't learning the tunes and singing properly.they got realy irritated over it .but i really really hate the dam songs .

  eveyone sounded totally joyless

  at present the age of consent in the uk is 16. .

  in spain the age of consent is 13. .

  the argument i have heard put forward is that a legal age of consent has little effect on younger people.
